Hei ja tervetuloa seuraamaan puheenjohtajan omaa palstaa! Tulen tässä blogissani – tai tässä yhdessä kategoriassa jos tarkkoja ollaan – käsittelemään ajankohtaisia lajiin liittyviä asioita ja ilmiöitä sekä herättämään niistä keskustelua.
Tästä blogista löytyvät kirjoitukset ja mielipiteet eivät edusta SFL:n virallista kantaa vaan ovat puheenjohtajan omia mielipiteitä.

In the context of Helsinki, Design Capital of the World next year, I have a concept that I would like to develop and see if it is possible.
My concept is to install a temporary café in the Meilahti course where there remains the foundations of what I believe was a ski jump. The idea is triple fold; Firstly, to provide services to disc players, i.e. refreshments, snacks and w.c. facilities. Secondly, to promote the sport of disc golf and possible “design” related fields. And thirdly, raise awareness of environmental issues by maintaining a zero impact or as close to zero impact as possible relationship with the site. To this end I would like to know if there is a possibility that the SFL could lend it´s support in any way, shape or form?
I myself am a fairly new practitioner of the sport but have quickly become enchanted by it but I am also disturbed by the trash on the courses. I believe that the founding philosophy of the sport should be promoted and highlighted; meaning that there should be a minimal trace left behind…
I can imagine that this idea might seem far fetched but I have the conviction that it is possible and has the potential for creating a larger debate and interest.
